Notes

It looks like an orchardist is taking advantage of the years before the pear trees get established to squeeze in a strawberry crop. Joe Kollas photo.

A simple photo yet it tells so much about Hood River.
I think this might be one of my favorites.

This is in the upper valley- the mountain is too close to be Odell area.
We picked as kids for Gene Euwer- up off of London Dr-he only hired kids and had an old school bus that transported us to and home from the fields.
Paid by the lb.- and the field boss watched us good. My older brother drove tractor for him. That would of been…idk- when I was 10 or so – for a few years.
    1967-70ish?
This picture might be from Dee Flat area?

I agree this has to be Parkdale area. I wonder, did Shibahara's have berries? Know they had wonderful asparagus.

I think this is Parkdale too with the lava beds just barely seen in the background. It looks so much like my Grandpa John Merz’s place on Clear Creek Rd. His two brothers Lew and Kenny had strawberries too.
