This mystery image is related to this earlier mystery image. This one was taken seven minutes before the image with the band. It was the Monday before Mother’s Day in 1951. I’m sure we’ll figure this out eventually.

If we knew who this woman was it would tell us a lot. With both a corsage and nosegay I am wondering if this might be a bride. Another clue, is she is going somewhere with her hat box by her feet.
Hopefully some one will know, but I certainly don’t…

An alert reader has suggested this might be Edith Green, who later served in the US Congress. I think the resemblance is strong– what do you think?

I can’t say I know who it is, but nosegays exactly like the one pictured were always given to me by my Godmother when I would travel to Portland from Seattle by train to visit with her – it was a "farewell "gesture. This would have been 1950-1955 for me.

I just read about Edith Green on Wikipedia. I am not a native Oregonian and did not know about her. I am glad to have learned about her work! Though, I do not know if she is the woman in this picture. Thanks for the comments – or I would not have learned about her.
