Here are nine charter members of the Crag Rats at the March 1976 celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary. The men aren’t identified in this image, but from other views we know the man in the beret is Fred Donnerberg, and Eino, Arvi and Sulo Annala are also present.

Mace Baldwin is second from the left, sporting a mostly full head of white hair. He was a soft-spoken, interesting and lovely man who lived a good life into his 90s. None of these men look very happy to be posing…

In 1921, Fred Donnerberg lost his father, his sister, and her husband and five year old daughter in a tragic automobile accident near Astoria.
