Notes
I’ll bet we can learn more about the subject of this photo, Dick Edstrom. It’s from a collection of looses photos in the Hood River News collection, most dating from the late 1950s. We know from this edition of the Columbia Gorge News that in 1982 Edstrom and partner Clayton Curtis took over Peggy’s Hen Hut, “a restaurant that specializes in fried chicken and hamburgers” at 12th and May Street. Let us know if you know anything about Dick Edstrom, or Peggy’s Hen Hut for that matter!
You can see the location and read a little about Edstrom and Curtis in this post from 2020.

Peggy’s Hen Hut was an awesome little chicken shack in the early 80’s. We lived on 17th and Eugene at the time, so we would stop in and grab a sucker on our way home from May Street School. Dick was in the Fire Dept. with my father if I recall correctly.
Bill Seaton
I was in the same high school class as his younger sister, JoAnn.

Dick was in HRHS’s Class of 1956.
