Notes
With local schools recently closing their doors for the summer, kids throughout the valley have been partaking in the century-old tradition of the class picture. This one is the Odell School in 1912, courtesy of Olga Plog. Amazingly all the kids and teachers are identified. We’ll have to get the names transcribed so they will be searchable.

They look to be sitting there so long they are bored – except for the cut-ups on the left in the second
and third row and a lively looking drummer.

Since Olga Plog was born in 1907, she is either not in the photo, or one of the very young ones.
Arthur Babitz
Notes indicate Louis, Harry, Edna and Olga Plog are all present. The image was from Sept. 2012, so she must have just started school.

I’m excited to see this photo! My grandmother Vera May Lafferty is probably in the photo–she turned 14 in May 1912. I bet it’s her in the back, second from left. The Laffertys lived in Odell from March 1908 to Oct. 1914, then again from 1935 on. Thank you for this photo!!
