Historic Hood River
Third and Oak
We can have a little fun with this more recent image of Third and Oak. First question: Can you date it? The jewelry store is named “Tyack Jewelers” in this era. There is a book store at the present location of Waucoma Books, and a Stationery reflected in the window from the current location of Hood River Stationers. The VW Beetle down the street doesn’t help too much.
It also looks like the subterranean location beneath the jewelers has a restaurant in it. How many different restaurants can you name that have shared that location? I have fond memories of several of them from my brief tenure here.
