Notes
This rather distinguished looking woman is identified as, “Margaret Roberts Fabric, now living in Medford July 21-51.” I see newspaper references to her in Medford through the 1930s, so perhaps her ties to Hood River are earlier than that. Can anyone fill us in?

Fabrick – Reid
Saturday evening, April 15, 1905, Glen Fabric, was united in marriage with Mrs. Margaret Reid at the residence of Rev. J. L. Hershner. The bride has been for a number of years a popular teacher in the Park street school, and also prominent as a worker in church and lodge circles. The groom has also been a teacher in the public schools but at present is the proprietor of the Paradise laundry.
Mr. and Mrs. Fabrick will reside on their property on the hill near the residence of John Donahue.
She had previously been married to J. H. Reid. The Fabrick’s moved to Seaside in October 1907. By 1910 they were in Medford, where she died in 1957. I believe her father was Charles George Roberts, who purchased land in what became Hood River County in 1892.

Now that we know who Margaret Roberts Reid Fabrick was (thanks to Jeffrey), any guesses as to what year the photo above was taken?
Arthur – when you post some of these more mysterious pictures, do you have any information on the source of the photos? Can and do you share this when you know it? Or do you just have a big pile of pictures to scan, with no information on where they came from?

kmb, many of these "mystery" photos come with little or no context. If we’re lucky we have some notes on the back. I’ve become pretty good at recognizing the handwriting of some of the people who left us notes so I sometimes have an opinion of how accurate the note might be. Usually I have some context from on where in the collection the image was stored. For example, if it’s in the Samuel Blythe collection that’s an important clue, but frequently it’s just in a folder marked "transportation".
In this case the notes appear to be from a family member, and the image was in the miscellaneous alphabetic biography files, so most likely it was donated by a family member long ago.
We try hard to record much more information on new acquisitions, but I am sure someone in the future will wish we left more clues.

In the 1900 census, a Glen Fabrick is a school teacher in Timber Valley, Klickitat County.
In 1904 Glen Fabric is listed as a bookkeeper in the Hood River city directory.
In the 1910 census, Glen Fabrick is listed in Medford, OR as a laundryman. His wife Margaret is 33 years old. She was born in California, her parents were born in Scotland. There are four children living with them. Margaret and Charles Reid and Glen and Catherine Fabrick.
Glen passed away in 1932. Margaret in 1957.
A Glen Fabrick is listed in the 1924 Medford High School Year Book as a senior, playing quarterback on the football team.

Margaret Fabrick was my grandmother. she died July 3, 1957. I believe she was 83, which makes her birth year 1874 rather than 1877 indicated by the 1910 census. My mother was her 4th child, Kathryn Elizabeth Fabrick (Ingle). Nanny had 5 children in this order: Dewey and Margaret Reid, Glenn, Kathryn and Jean Fabrick. She taught at an Indian school in Hood River, Oregon where she met Glenn Fabrick Sr. My guess at her age in this picture is between 25 and 30 when she was supporting her first two children. She was slightly older than my grandfather Glenn Fabric, so my mother said she fibbed a little about her age. The 1924 football Glenn is my uncle, Margaret Fabrick’s third child. I would be happy to share any information you might like.
