These pictures remind me of our Explorer Post’s hike up the trail and Dennis Paddock and
Dick Jones packing cans of Dinty Moore stew for lunch. Thanks Arthur!

Dinty Moore stew– there’s a memory. I think you should buy a can and see if it still tastes the same. Make sure you add a few pine needles and grit to it and heat in a dirty pot.

I also was on that Explorer Post hike that Arlen mentions. I remember we weighed our back packs just before we left. Mine weighed 23 pounds and Arlen’s was a similar weight. However, Dick Jones’s was 55 pounds and Dennis Paddock’s was 71. Dick and Dennis were both very tired by the time we hiked the miles to our camp site.
