This “Ohio Star” quilt is Morganne’s selection for this Monday.  It announces a new display opening at The History Museum today.  There will be a reception for the exhibit and a Hidden History lecture next Wednesday October 18th at the museum.

The quilt was made by Louise Rogers, donated by Ernestine and Dorothy Harms (Kollas).  “Ohio Star” style blocks originated during the early 1800s and became very popular with pioneer women. Stars were an early product of the quarter square triangle which allowed intricate designs to be created with small fabric scraps.
