Historic Hood River
William Graham?

Notes
Our collection is full of cabinet cards with little context or information. This one was in our bio files under “G” with the name “William Graham” written on it. Could this be the George William Graham buried in Idlewilde? If so, this article gives a tiny insight into his life:
Married: George William Graham of Hood Hiver, and Mrs. Lillian Mancirt of Portland, were married at Portland Monday evening November 30, 1903. Mr. and Mrs. Graham left the next day for a short stay at Seaside. The wedding came as a surprise to Mr. Graham’s many Hood River friends, but all are glad to extend congratulations.
I’ll bet a little research will fill in some details…

Is the photographer identified on the back?

We don't have a scan of the reverse, which should mean it is blank. Our policy is to scan any markings on the reverse (at a lower resolution). Most cabinet cards have some identification of the photographer, but some don't. The pose and the vignetting suggest it was the work of a professional.

There is a William Merrill Graham buried at Idlewilde. Born 1882. Died 1945. He lived in HR, Mosier and Skamania. His wife's family, the Forbes's are also buried in Idlewilde.
George William Graham 1861-1931 perhaps has a stronger connection the HR Valley. His father settled in the upper HR Valley in 1884. His mother was Margaret Tostevin and there appears to be quite a few Tostevins in Idlewilde.
