Notes
This image was so overexposed that I didn’t even notice the railroad or the pipeline until I let Photoshop do its magic. The terrain is distinctive enough I suspect someone will know this exact spot, even if the railroad and pipeline are gone.

I’m surprised that no one has commented on this yet! This sure looks like the area called "River Mile 1" about a mile up from town on the railroad. The rail road bed has now been filled with rock instead of the trestle works.
Is there a date on the image?

Yeah I agree with Ranger…up the Hood River where the flume pipe crossed on its bridge.

No date on this, but the Davidson negatives are roughly dated to 1912-1920.

No leaves on the shrubs in the front so I would guess this is between November and February. Really low water for a winter time shot though.

Could this be Johnson’s Cut at M.P. 1.4?
From the National History of the HR Railroad:
"At MP 1.3, the railroad approaches one of the sharpest curves on the line (14 percent) and a major cut, known as Johnson’s Cut. Initially, a tunnel was planned for this section of track known as "Johnson’s Point", however, due to the cost and time involved in tunnel construction, the tunnel project was abandoned and the cut constructed."
