Notes

While the notes aren’t completely clear, I believe this is part of the Hood River Ski Club collection from the early 1920s. If I’m not mistaken this is a little below Cloud Cap Inn.

No comments? This beautiful picture must have left the many HHR viewers speechless. I am left wondering exactly where Cloud Cap Inn would be located relative to where this picture was taken. I was thinking off to the left (east), but now I am not sure. My recollection was that Cloud Cap would be lined up with the center of Elliot Glacier, and this location appears to be west of that.

I think they all ate too much turkey.

I thought this was the trail up to Cloud Cap, but we’ll see what everyone else thinks.

    Beautiful shot.

This could be the road that goes around behind Cloud Cap where the camp ground would be. If it is, going around to where that camp ground and trail head is, would line things up better with Cooper Spur.
But if that were the case, there should be that shale side hill there below the building.

I would think some Crag Rat would have a good idea, if they had ever skiied into or out of that area.
