Earl Conser and friends break for lunch. His caption reads, “Reading from left to right: S. Starr, C.E.?ster, E. Conser, Jack Macrum. Lunch time on the work- October 1900”
That must be the river in the background? I hope someone can identify the hills.
The detail in these Conser photos fascinate me, but evidently we still don’t know who the photographer was??
Kyle
I notice….
– Guy at far left is whittling that stick? – Guy kneeling at center is about to recive a tin mug of whatever’s in that kettle, maybe coffee? – Looks like some hard boiled eggs laid out behind him on the log?
Makes me think this is a breakfast shot, and perhaps the whittled stick will be used to roast something like sausages over a fire off-camera.
