Notes
This panorama which includes the Dee Mill and part of the company town of Dee was likely taken between 1958 and 1960. How can we date it so narrowly? It’s from a set of panoramas of the mill taken when it was owned by the Hines Lumber Company (part of the Ed Wonsyld collection). Hines bought the mill and the town in 1958, and started dismantling the town. Apparently all those houses were gone by 1960. You can read a nice history of Dee here.

Good history read.
I couldn’t find a photo of the Dee school.
Here is one of Dee Main Street, which is a good example of the era of a "Company Town". https://www.hoodriverhistorymuseum.org?showimage=2475

fond memories of an excursion on the MHRR on a flatcar with folding chairs going through the mill on the way to parkdale in the 50s. hoping Scott/s future for the railroad includes this segment.
did the event venue idea fade or was it rejected?
