Alva Day documented the aftermath of a flash flood in June of 1927 at Arlington, Oregon. I suspect he was out there as part of his job with Pacific Power and Light. We have just a few frames of documentation, but his composition is striking.

From the flash flood that destroyed Heppner in 1903, we know that flash floods can happen in eastern OR and WA.
It would be interesting to see how many of those happen in June. This one is June as was the Heppner flood and the previous photo of the Hood River down pour.
Looks like they have a chain on the car ready to pull it out.

At least it wasn’t the car taking band leader Doc Severinsen to the hospital. He was born a month later.

I saw that chain also, but wouldn’t think that is where they would attach it. I would think in the middle of the axel, but I would take the debris off the top first., unless all that is behind it and hard to tell. Looks like too much body and fender work to me.

Charlott; I am thinking about a 1926 Dodge Brothers but hard to tell because of it being a "wrecked one" maybe a close up Arthur?

Jim– I wasn’t sure you could handle seeing this close up. The shiny metal all crunched, scratched and muddy isn’t for the faint of heart. But since you asked for it, I’ve sent it.
