Historic Hood River
Brush Fire
3-14-2013

Notes
This brush fire started in a particularly photogenic spot. I believe that is the Jaymar mill down beyond the tracks, with Mt. Adams in the background.

Is that what is now the Hook?

At first I thought those were rocks the men were standing on, but is it waste slash?

Andrew this is just west of the hook , Wells Island in the background, in the 70’s we fought a fire almost every year in the ‘ sawdust/slash pit" as it would self reignite. Looks like a lone t-shirted guy fighting the fire in the smoke.
