Three girls in the back. l to r: I think her name was Mary Jo Smullin, the next two are sisters, Ellen and Maurene (not sure how she spelled it) Higgins. They lived across from what is now Mid Valley Elementary School. The gal sitting with the necklace type thing is Beverly Gibbons, known to some as "BeBe." Knew her very well as she was a neighbor in Pine Grove on Wells Drive. She had the most wonderful tree house, way up in an Oak tree and I do mean way up. She was the only one I ever knew that could get up there. How she built it was as much of a mystery as the pyramids.
Wonder what the significance is of the Coleman lantern sitting there.

Ellen and her sister Maureenr last name was Higgons. They had a younger sister and brother, Maureen lives in Hood River today.

Yes, the youngest Higgins girl was in my class in school.

I just looked in my 1954 Aquila year book for Wy’East High School and the picture is in there. It was a picture ot the actors in the play we performed that year called "Inner Willy" and I was one of the actors in it along with my sister Ellen. Mr. Charles Shivley was a teacher and the head of the Dramatics Department and must have cast the play. Mary Jo Smullin and I played twins in the play even though my sister was also cast in the play. Names in the picture are front row: Don Jacox and Gene Boles. Second Row Mr. Shively, Lynn Gilkerson, Linda Stave, Betty Kollas, Beverly Gibbons, Lenn Mackey and Third Row: Mary Jo Smullin, Ellen Higgins, and Maureen Higgins (even though I am not identified in the picture in the annual.) And yes I returned to live in the Hood River Valley in 1985. And Gene Boles who now lives in the LA area, had a career in acting and teaching.

Sincere apologies, but Beverly Gibbons of Hood River is very much alive. There is another Beverly Gibbons and got them mixed up. So sorry……
