Looks like the football players are chauffeuring the cheerleaders to publicize the pep rally Thursday. The cheerleaders present are Patt, Eileen, Judy, Myrtle and Ava. I’m sure someone can fill in the last names.

Didn’t know these kids. They were ahead of me. But wouldn’t be surprised if this kid owned this car. In the 50’s,many boys dreamed of turning 16 and owning their own car. If dad couldn’t or wouldn’t help buy it, many boys went to work and bought their own car. Free at last!!

I think you are right Buzz. Two antenna(ae?), one with a fake ‘coon tail, two spot lights, writing on the fender, and a patch job on the fender in progress. And admiration for a young man who would get out and earn and save.

Any guesses on the location of this photograph? Noticed the number of lights on the building entryway, the word "power" and the number "8" on the door. Perhaps in front of the Pacific Power and Light office at 4th and Oak. Looks like a cold night in Hood River for these teens.

This photo was very early on in Wy’east history. I think Judy possibly could be Judy Eastman. I remember Myrtle and wish I could recall her last name as she was quite the cheer leader.
Definitely a Thursday night rally prior to a Friday night football game. Probably against Hood River.
Definitely in front of the PP&L building in town.

The "Judy" is Judy Joy, the "Pat" is Patt Nett, The girl on the right looking at the camera is Ellen Higgins. The "Myrtle" is Myrtle Williams. Avo Willson is probably somewhere in this photo; she was a cheer leader with this group. I don’t recognize the driver of the car.

Judy Merz Wyers is my Mom’s cousin. I showed this picture to my Mom and she said yes, it’s Judy. My Grandpa was John Merz and Judy’s Dad Lew was his brother. 3 of the Merz boys landed in Parkdale, while the other 9 siblings stayed in the Kalama/Vancouver area. The Burger Bar in Kalama was owned by another brother Don Merz. His son Richard still runs it.
