Here’s a nice view of the HRFD pulling an old fire truck out of Fire Station #1, located in the basement of the City Hall building.

The man on the far right in the long coat is Darwin Glaze.
I notice the old water tower down at the depot. This has to be prewar or during the war. At least that is my guess from the cars.
At the time I think that was one of the trucks that they were actually using and not an old one, as you notice the fire helmets all rowed up.

Looking at the cars in the background this engine was likely very new at the time, The engine, a Kenworth was very powerful, I was lucky to be able to drive it a few times and it would fly up the Hood River Hills. It was used up into the 70’s.
