Notes
This view has certainly changed. The UP rail and the Columbia River Highway enter the Dalles from the west in this view. There wasn’t much in the way of development on that side of town.

I am just leaving for The Dalles. I think I will drive up to Sorosis and check out this view.

Just to the right would be the Umatilla House depending on the date of this photo. The original RR yard would also be just off to the right, the rim of the turntable still is visible on the ground and on aerial views.
