I’m not sure where these folks pulled off the road for a little picnic, but the man on the right is Dr. E. L. Scobee. He was a local dentist and served as Hood River mayor in the 1920s.

Yep…no McDonalds in those days.
I have fond memories of my mom packing a box with sandwiches, cookies, a couple of thermoses of coffee, metal cups and even some canned milk and sugar so I could have a cup of coffee.
Off we went, into the hills for a drive.
