Historic Hood River
Davenport Flume
6-18-2026

Notes
This 1917 map shows the course of the “Devenport Flume” (presumably a misspelling of Davenport) from a sawmill up on Spring Creek, down Deadpoint Creek to a lumber yard along the Hood River north of Dee. Since there were multiple properties owned by Davenport, I am not clear if we’ve reviewed any images of this mill/ flume/ lumberyard before. The lumberyard appears to be alongside the Mount Hood Railroad north of Dee and Winans, or perhaps at Winans.
Apparently this flume was no longer operating when this map was prepared in 1917.
If you know any of the details please fill them in.
