Historic Hood River
“Curl Or-Cutt”
3-4-2026

Notes
I bet someone will recognize the “Curl Or-Cutt” salon and fill us in on some of the details. The street number is 1213, though we don’t know what street. I’ll take a wild guess someone’s last name is “Orcutt”. Circa 1980.

Arthur, if your guess is correct about the surname “Orcutt” is correct, Forrest, aka Bud and Naomi Orcutt were my neighbors in HR until 2011 when they moved to Arizona.
As I recall, their son and daughter in law own a large lavender farm on Fletcher Drive.

I took my mother-in-law to Judy’s CutnCurl in the early 90s on the Heights. Judy Orcutt? Later it became home to Lake Taco.
The building sure looks familiar.
Melody Shellman
1213 June, I think. It’s where Lake Taco was until they moved downtown. Behind the denturist.
Scott Hamada
This might be 1213 June Street where Lake Taco used to be.

Melody beat me by 10 minutes!

I agree to the Lake Taco location. I took my mother-in-law there to Judy’s Cut and Curl in the 2000s. Judy Orcutt I believe was her name.
Judy Orcutt did my hair . Is she in this pic?

Judy Orcutt is on the right. Unsure of the person on the left.

Judy married a man older than her named Vince Orcutt; he had a daughter Ronnie (Rhonda I think, and an older daughter too) who must have been in the 1969 or so graduating class at HRHS. Judy was a nice woman who passed away within the last five or so years.
