Historic Hood River
Modern Airport, 1933
9-19-2013

Notes
I wish I could make out more of the placard describing this shop window display from October 1933, but at least we know it is a “Modern Airport.” I think the names of the two model builders are included, but I can’t make them out.

Certainly a lot of hard work went into this model. Would be interesting to know where it was displayed.

I wonder if it is a replica of an actual airport.
The terminal almost has a southwest look to it. I wonder why the top floor is open.

Early airports often had observation decks. I can remember visiting a rural airport as a young child and going out onto the deck to watch the planes.
Sounds like there are/were Sunset Airlines, past and present.
