Is this where babies used to come from? I’ll let you use your imagination to fill in the rest of the details. Not sure if this was a July 4th parade, or one of the Depression era “pet parades.”

Is that background building the old Franz Hardware building, so Oak and second St. ???

Those look like wooden spokes on the truck wheels.

The brickwork is different from the Franz building. I think that’s the Union Building in the background, so I’m guessing this is the NE corner of 4th and Cascade (Elks building now).

I wonder why it says BRUINS at the top of the building?

I think that’s Brunswick, a parts manufacturer? Also Dodge Brothers, Cleveland and Chandler, which were automobile manufacturers.

Here is a possibility for the baby wagon, although the dates may not match. This might be too early for the photo.
The lady in the wagon appears to be dressed as or is a nurse.
In 1918-1919 there were large fundraisers all through the Portland area to build a new Albertina Kerr Nursery Home.
It provided care and adoption services for young children.
