Notes
Wearing a shirt with your name sewn on it provides some measure of long term identification, but it’s not foolproof. I can read Charlie, Li?, ?, Ted, Bill and Neg. Notes accompanying this collection indicate Charlie may be Charlie Edwards (though it’s crossed out), Ted is Ted Ekker, Bill is Bill Paddock, and Neg is Bill Negley.
The image is dated to April 1957.

The third fellow from the left is Hap Holloway.
Susan Baldwin
Hap (Glen) Holloway was my paternal uncle. He was a cabinet builder for LC Baldwin, (Jr.) Construction and had a hand in building some fine kitchens and bathrooms, among other things, throughout the years. He and Aunt Ruthie (Negley – Bill was her brother) lived on southeast corner of 7th and June streets for decades in a house he rebuilt from a two to one story, beautiful home. He even hand split the cedar shake roof that has since been replaced with metal. He grew and harvested a bountiful garden in the lot they owned behind the house; it’s the site of a house now. Of course Aunt Ruth was in charge of canning and freezing produce all summer long. Second from left is, I believe, Bill Lee. The fellow at the far left looks so familiar but I can’t recall his name. Great photo that brings up long forgotten memories!

On the left looks like Charlie Smith, front counter man at C.M. & W.O. Sheppard store. Hood River had a very active bowling league back then.
