This is a nice view from the Alta Walter album of Oregon’s first state capitol building.  You can read its interesting history here- why it wasn’t built until almost 20 years after statehood, and how it was destroyed in a spectacular fire in 1935.  It was replaced by our “modernistic” capitol building in 1938.
