This postcard was sent by Aldine to her brother Earl Bartmess on June 8, 1909, and adds fascinating insight into this earlier post about the “Cyclone Evangelist” Dan Shannon. Here’s the text:
Dear Earl, Had a grand meeting last night (Mon.) Converts 450. Converts last night Mr. John Nickelson Sam Blowers and others I don’t know. Then Shannon asked for those who would make the start and Neal Evans and wife, Idell W. and a dozen more I didn’t know. Mama said to phone to Shaffer. Shannon’s and Ross’s are going away on 11:55 train big crowd will be to train I hope. When will you be home. Aldine.

These postcards are so amazingly clear! Especially if they actually went through the mail service.
It is an extra bonus to have something personally written on them.
Where is the livery barn that was in photo # 1.

The bridge looks much higher than it does today. To the left where the trestle is, is all filled in now.

There is a large white building way up on the hill on the left. Any idea what it is?

Nice coloring of a black/white photo. It is quite apparent that the Bonneville Dam had quite the impact on the water level. Neat that classmate Mary is watching and posting…….boy does she have HR roots. Arlen
