Historic Hood River
Winans Depot? Or Maybe Dee?

Notes
While we’re solving rare Mt. Hood Railroad mysteries, I think this may be a picture of the Winans depot circa 1915. The elevation is in the right range, and the album context makes it most likely this is along the Mt. Hood Railroad line. We had another possible Winans depot sighting in this post. Unfortunately there isn’t enough context to compare the images, but the evidence this is Winans depot is moderate. There were actually four stops in the same general area, according to this schedule from The Hood River Glacier: Summit, Bloucher, Winans and Dee. Bloucher was at about 800′, Winans just above 900′, and Dee was just under 1000′, so depending on exactly where the depot was in Winans or Dee either could have been at 955′.
If we were filming a crime procedural drama I would be able to decipher the reflection in the glass door pane to solve the mystery, but in the real world it could be anything from a distorted image of the hotel at Dee to scratches on the negative.
