Clue: this house now has a massive fir tree in the front yard (which is poking from behind the oak)…..and it lost its garage in last years ice storm.

I can’t tell the house number from the map I looked at, but the house appears to be right across State Street from the now gone home of Earl and Phoebe Koberg. My guess is 675 State Street.

Exciting to have our home feature of the day.
The home was finished in 1902 and the original owner was Truman and Ella Butler. I don’t know the builder or Architect but I must thank them for a fantastic accomplishment. A beautiful home if i may say so.
His father opened the first bank in Hood River, the Butler Banking Company, check that out on the SW corner of Third and Oak.
The previous owners put together a wonderful scrap book on the home so if you have any info on the home that you can share please do.

Adding to AndrewB’s comment, when I was a boy, if we talked about that part of 7th Street, we would have called it The Bottom of Catholic Hill.

There use to be two fir trees in front of the house. One got struck by lightning around 1977.

Oh ya, I most definitely recognize it!! It was split into apartments and we had the upstairs apartment back in 1976! Wonderful old house.
