No summer outing is complete without watermelon. These folks escaped the city for a camping trip, but as they are not exactly roughing it.

It appears the two women and one man might be outdoor types due to their pants and boots. The other man is no doubt a city person along for the fun of the day.

The guy wearing the suit jacket doesn’t have his face down into the watermelon. I don’t think he is really into the juicy mess. Looks like the guy on the right is though.

True watermelon lovers. I wonder if they salted and peppered it – something that my great-grandmother’s family did at picnics, which I never understood!

they may not be camping at all. Look at the left of the picture. That is "slash" like logging area. There were still areas in 1915 on the valley floor that were being cleared. This all might be totally staged.
