Notes

Hard to believe this was eight years ago. State Street is torn up for an Urban Renewal project which replaced all the sewer and water pipes, put the utilities underground, and left us with shiny new sidewalks curb gutter and street. The Horsefeathers building was still a restaurant back then. Now it is in limbo with new owners renovating it.

I lived in this neighborhood from 1949 to 1952, and it was a fun area to live in.

Yesterday, I noticed the statue on the south side of State St. was wearing a stocking hat to protect against the cold east wind. I thought there were other protuberances that were possibly suffering from the cold.

I think a dog or a pile of sports equipment would have been a better sculpture tp

    represent Hood River.

    Wasn't this building once a laundry (Meyer's?)
