If I am reading the scrawl on the reverse correctly, this is Coach Jim Carr. I’m going to go out on a limb and say he’s the football coach. Can anyone fill us in on his school or era?
Also, join me along with an eclectic group of speakers this evening at the Columbia Center For the Arts, for the 3rd Annual “Rooted” storytelling event. While it says “Family Friendly” that’s not entirely true this time. There are a couple of stories with themes that wouldn’t be appropriate for most kids. This year I’d suggest get a sitter and enjoy a night out with the grownups.

The 1940 Census, shows C. King Benton with daughter Julianne and son-in-law James Carr, who was a high school teacher.

Jim Carr, who was a friend of my parents, was a substitute teacher when I was in school. As I remember he and Julie were 5 children. I think there were 4 girls and 1 boy. The boy, James, married Mary Martha Parker whose father was principal at WyEast high school.
