Wood shop class, where boys were supposed to learn how to operate power tools without losing any limbs. Safety glasses? At least he has a pencil handy.

The shirt and tie reminds me of the early 60’s when another teacher and I had to get board permission to wear pants suits. ("Only if they matched"…) The teach union told us we were on our own as they were dealing with a teacher who wore a turtle neck under his jacket and was being fired! Times do change, and this website is so very entertaining with the dress attire through the decades.

What building are we looking at, out the window?

The shop teacher is Carl Wiesinger, who I believe taught at Wyeast from about 1951 through 1959. I cannot figure out who the student is that is watching Mr. Wiesinger use the scroll saw. Can anyone here identify the student?

This has to be looking south to where basically towards that area where the 4-H building of the fair and the flower building are located. If it was looking out the north windows you would be looking at the wing of the school that ran east and west.
