The jeweler was Frank Henry Coolidge. Appears that corner has housed a jewelry store for many years. What is that dome in the middle of the street, a man hole cover or a water drainage entrance. Quite a few wires running from the poles aren’t there? See there was jay walking way back when…Shows they had their fire system in as there is that fire hydrant in the right hand corner.

can anyone read what the signs on the post say?

There are two signs on the post. The arrow on top says "Mount Hood." The sign below is not completely legible, but says something like "Ask a Ch????"

Maybe a light or some kind of indicator where the middle of the road is.

I guess that isn’t the river and an island. I was looking from a not so good computer this morning.

But the surface of the building on the left looks different.

weren’t those islands in the middle of an intersection protecting a flashing yellow "caution" light? that’s the island you meant, right l.e.?! 😉

Yes, this is the same intersection as https://www.hoodriverhistorymuseum.org?showimage=509, but maybe 10 years later. I’m waiting for Jim to look at the cars and give us a better date.

Arthur looking at the cars I think the newest car is the one closest to the camera, nice shiny paint, the only car I really think I know is what most likely is a Model T, the first car parked at an angle downhill, but all the cars look early to mid twenty’s, taking a wild guess no later than 27/28. I find interesting is the Kelly tire sign next to the Jewlery store, I had no idea there was a service station/car repair store there.

I cropped this one a little too tight, but there’s even a gas pump in front of the Kelly Tire place (now Waucoma Book Store), right outside the frame.
