Notes

Meet E. A. “Si” Sonnichsen. A note on the back of the photo indicates Si succeeded his father as owner of the Hood River News. The year 1919 is also mentioned, though according to this 1939 history of Hood River newspapers Mr. Sonnichsen succeeded his father on his death in 1937. This photo is by Ray Webber, so I would place it 1930-50.

    Name was Edwin Alan/Allen Sonnichsen. He was the son of Charles Peter and Jennie (Anderson) Sonnichsen. According to records his father died in 1937 and he took over the Hood River News. His wife was Bertha Downing and they had two daughters.
