Photographer’s Bridge
Notes
This photographer on the bridge is one of Ella May Davidson’s friends. I haven’t shown many of her images lately, but this is a good one to announce two new happenings at the museum tomorrow (Friday) evening.
#1) There will be an opening reception for an exhibit of contemporary photographs by Danny McCarty starting at 6:30 PM at the museum, including remarks by the artist at 8PM. The event includes an open house (which I think means I will be there to give tours of the photo archives) as well as refreshments, with wine available.
#2) I’ve finally gotten around to preparing a selection of my favorite photographs from our collection for purchase to enjoy in your home or office. I have prepared 120 images for printing, and we have had 30 of them printed professionally. They are beautifully matted and mounted on foamcore, ready for the frame of your choice. If you come to the opening reception tomorrow night you’ll be among the first to see a selection of prints. You can even take one home with you.

There is something about moving water, whether ocean. river, or creek, that soothes the soul.

Unless you have to cross it.
I can sit beside the water for hours and be soothed. Just don’t make me get in it, or my soul becomes a turmoil.
This time of year with the streams and rivers climbing their banks, it makes me realize how complicated travel was for the Indians and the early settlers.
I hope Friday night at the museum is well attended.
