This Union Pacific locomotive is at the Hood River on a snowy day. It looks like the rail has just been cleared.
I hope the train guys can narrow down a year, because I am interested in the building down by the waterfront. Is that the early Nichols Boat Works building, or something else? The bridge has the lift span, so it’s 1940s or later.

In 1945, we moved into the Downing Building, which was just 1 block from these tracks. I often saw trains that looked just like this.

Great picture! No clue of the year but oil burning engine; no more coal.

2228 or 2278? Either way, A hard working Mikado 2-8-2. built in the late teen’s likely scrapped in the early 50’s.
Not too bad…A warm cab on a cold day. No phone to bother you everyone gets out of your way!
