Gorge Youth Speaks at the The Ruins in Hood River

A Series To Give Young Residents A Voice To Share

The final event of the three-part series will be The Ruins in downtown Hood River. Gorge Youth Speaks creates a space for young people to share their hopes, ideas, and vision for the future of the Gorge, our country, and the world. Centering youth voice, civic engagement, and community storytelling, the series explores topics such as the environment and climate change, democracy, belonging, and the changes young people want to see.

Tickets are $10 for adults (students are free) and are on sale at the museum and online at hoodriverhistorymuseum.org. Wednesday, May 13, doors at 6:30, event starts at 7pm, at The Ruins, 13 Railroad St, Hood River.

This final Gorge Youth Speaks event will include members of the award-winning Hood River Valley High School Speech and Debate team who will present their pieces.  This is also a fundraiser for the HRV Speech and Debate team, with 50% of the evening’s proceeds going to support the team members traveling to the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Richmond, Virginia in June.  The speaker lineup includes HRVHS students Skylar Nelson, Isaac Serrano, Bee Carsley, Emily Fry, Tate Shays, Sadie Henry and Gillian Reed.
