Historic Hood River
The information on the back of this print is a bit confusing, but it is identified as the Woodworth Ranch “Lava Beds Orchard” in Parkdale, about 1902. The names Nancy Wilson and Rose Woodworth are listed. The image is from the John Wilson file.
According to “The History of Early Pioneer Families of Hood River, Oregon,” Rose and G.D. Woodworth came to Hood River in 1896 along witth their children. We previously saw two daughters, Idel and Ethel, in this image. Idel died while still young, and Ethel and her husband drowned on their honeymoon in Alaska.
We previously saw Nancy Wilson in this image from 1919. It looks like a pretty good match to the woman on the left, though if that image is from 1919 I’m not as sure about this one being from 1902.
