Historic Hood River
White Christmas, 2008

Notes
I’m sure you all remember the snowstorm that started before Christmas 2008 and continued right into the new year. I took this shot on December 22nd, when the snow was still a novelty and it wasn’t too hard to get around. By New Years Day my large-sized dog was having trouble bounding around the yard and people returning from holiday trips had trouble finding their driveways.
By complete coincidence this view is almost the exact same perspective as last Friday’s image, though almost 60 years later.

Yep, the following Fall I bought a snowblower. Haven’t really needed it since. But I’m confident that one of these winters we’ll get the "big" one once again.

Warm and cheerful photo.
It almost has a Bavarian look to it.

I hope everyone has noticed how lovely the Christmas lights on the trees along Oak St. look today, compared to this photo. Whoever is wrapping these trees with lights, KNOWS what they are doing. In this photo, they were using the "net" style lights that only draped part way up the tree….. today, some of the light strands go all the way up to the top of the trees. Very nice! Wish we had some snow again…..

I was in Innsbruck and Munich three years ago for their Christmas events. Yes, this is beautiful but doesn’t in any way compare to their holiday lighting, etc.
