To his left my guess is that that is the Paris Fair building and the stairs and entry way is to the Bartmess building where he and his Mom lived at one time.

Yes, our apartment opened on to the balcony. On the hot evenings in the summer, we used to sit out on the balcony. Across the street, Shelton’s Pastime would have their front doors open and we could hear their jukebox. I remember that’s where I heard my first Hank Williams songs.
