   This was right at the end of the bridge and that is where the distillery was when I was growing up.

   That house on the right is still there.

   I grew up, where, if the wind was blowing just right we could smell the Camas Paper Mill. In fact if we smelled the mill, my dad would say it was going to rain.
   I wonder if Hood River sometimes had the smell of vinegar wafting through town?

   I’m scratching my head at Charlott’s location. I thought this vinegar factory was north of the big AGA facility, on what we now call Industrial Street north of Full Sail (between 6th and 7th). That’s where it’s mapped on the Sanborn maps. Was there a second vinegar factory near the distillery on State Street?

   LE, I here the Camas paper mill is closing, no more smell. We just lost two paper mills at Oregon City that cut up logs to sell paper and gained one that cuts up babies to sell parts.
