Notes

It appears this velodrome was brought to town for some sort of fair. This is a W.F. Laraway image from Glenwood, Iowa, prior to his move to Hood River.

I can't imagine it was easy to get going and how soon would it take to become dizzy?
    The track is quite small.

Last year I went to a circus and they were using motorcycles in a similar size ball.

Here's a link to a youtube video titled “World's smallest velodrome”. – it's quite a lot larger than the one in this picture. https://youtu.be/kghtRevkUJA

Area appears hilly, surprised to see only a single team on the stage coach.

    Where is this?

This picture shows Glenwood Iowa as other towns in that environment, usually in a draw to free up farmland and be protected from wind. Guess the flatland of Iowa would explain having only one team on the stagecoach.

If you're interested in seeing one of these in action, these guys saw some pictures like this and built one: https://youtu.be/dQNIN9vYdsY

My grandpa (Jerry Shellman) would do that with a motorcycle back in the late 20s to first half of the 30s at various fairs in this area. He lived up Neal Creek Canyon at the time. (He also rode through Odell standing on the seat of his motorcycle, arms out for balance. We have a picture, but it's not very good.)
