Here’s Hal Nesbit at Tie Up Rock on Mt, Hood, in August 1913. How many people do you think have had their pictures taken at this exact spot in the intervening 103 years?
Never heard of tie up rock on Mt. Hood. What’s the story?
Nancy
It’s called Tie In Rock
L.E.
Mr. Nesbit, the Kelly Tire guy and drummer for the HR Rotary.

Tie in rock is located on the Cooper Spur climbing route, it is where people traditionally tie onto a rope to climb higher up the steeper part of the route. I always thought it was a spot named during the American Legion group climbs, but 1913 was before those events.
Kenn
Thanks, Ranger, I had not heard of the rock or the location.
