Notes

This fun image from one of the legion climbs bears the caption, “The wild men, who were tamed, however, by the frigid atmosphere of the mountain last Saturday.” I believe the caption was prepared for one of the local newspapers.

I can’t explain why the men have decorated themselves with sprigs of what I think is hemlock.

A rather delicate subject, but with the co-ed climbs there had to be some kind of restroom arrangement. Have always wondered. Are there some kind of primitied facilities or is the mountain littered with cast off of climbers?

as the designated lime dispenser around the Oregon Rail Heritage Center in Portland, an interesting question nails Arlen
