This may not be the sharpest image, but it makes up for that in nostalgia. This is “The Ranch” drive in on 12th Street in the era when it really was a “drive in”. I’m guessing a few of you had your first jobs here or were regular customers. This building now houses the Hood River branch of “Big Jim’s”.

It was probably the late 50’s when I first went to The Ranch. My Mom’s brother, Scooter Merz had a 30’s car that he had painted Candy Apple red. Everyone was looking at that car and I remember feeling that I got to ride in that car! It was a treat for sure, the car and the food at The Ranch.
