Historic Hood River
The Bridges of Hood River County
9-16-2013

Notes
Look carefully at this shot of the last stretch of the Hood River before it hits the Columbia. The photographer caught a unique moment in time which lets us date the image, probably to the exact year.

Wow, nice Arthur! Seems to me the current railroad bridge, tallest, most downstream in photo, is dated 1907, so this must be ’06-’08?

That is the first time I have seen a good photo of the Button home.
How long did the HR have three bridges at the same time?

Really shows the trees at the confluence of the Hood River with the Columbia.
They must have been doing well to have built that large of a house.
Arthur
spinsur, are you sure about the 1907 date for the bridge? I can’t recall if the plate on the bridge says 1906 or 1907. It may take a field trip to verify.

You’re on it Arthur, I thought it said 1907, but http://bridgehunter.com/or/hood-river/hood-river-railroad/ shows 1906.
