In the 1950’s the Oregon Lumber Company mill at Dee was producing a chip/fiber board called “allwood”. This promotional page describes its manufacture.
Have any of you run into “allwood” while remodeling your houses?

Worked at the Dee Hardboard plant for about 13 years, My father Retired from there as well, later my son worked there as well for a time. Mr. Ruckel beat the Masonite Patent by adding Bark to the mix.

Thanks Jim, I was wondering about the formulation of Allwood. The advertising boasts none of the tree is wasted. Sounds like it was true!

The house at the top of the Stairs to the east was a Demo house for the
Product owned by the Runkels.

My father, Les Hukari, worked there from 1950-(51?) til he retired in 1985….
I think that was when it was closing, or was sold,?? And then the fire in the 90s?
He was the foreman of the paint line for many years.
I remember a tour of the mill around 1968-70? For a paper I wrote for a school assignment. All those pictures showing the process look familiar.
It was very hot in there and noisy.
My Dad used a lot of this chipboard/ hardboard/ paneling in our basement when he finished it.
