I knew prunes worked wonders. Didn’t know about figs.
At least these adds don’t come with the dire warnings that we hear on TV today. "May cause blurred vision. If you have a bowel movement lasting more than two hours, stop taking fig syrup and contact your physician."

My mother used to give us a dose of California Syrup of Figs every spring, just because. This is the first time I’ve heard of it since I left England in 1969.
